REDS Racing sign Cody King!
In a surprise move Reds Racing have signed 2010 IFMAR World Champion Cody King. Cody had a great showing at the recent 2012 World’s in Argentina, and with his experience, the Italian company expects to see the engine line evolve and grow to a whole new level during the next two years. Cody and his dad, Paul, will have a full race schedule and will work closely with Mario Rossi on R&D. Cody had this to say:
First, I have to say thank you to Team Orion, and specifically Philippe Neidhart and Adrien Bertin for the last several years together. Adrien has made such good progress over the past few years, and of course with a World Championship, that is something special we did together. I will always have great memories and a special bond with those guys because of our accomplishments. Now we have a change. I have to say thanks to Mario Rossi, Marco Rossi, and Alex Pilson for giving me this great opportunity with Reds Racing. I am super excited to be working with Mario Rossi, I mean what more could you ask for?! Our initial testing of the engines has been very good, tons of power and cool operation. The quality and simplicity using these engines is very good. With such a good factory and Mario guiding the way, it’s going to be a great experience. I can’t wait for the racing season to begin. Our first big stop is coming right up at the Nitro Challenge on February 20th

Victory for Andrew Webber at the HRCCC Hosted Waikato Champs
Reds RC Ltd would like to congratulate Andrew Webber on his recent success in 1/8 GP Offroad Buggy.
With around 160 cars and drivers from all over the country (including a couple from Australia) the HRCCC hosted Waikato Champs event was to become the largest 1/8 Offroad Event ever staged in New Zealand.
On a brand new untested track the weekend began with a days practice and a chance to try and gel with the unfamiliar layout and new challenges the track now provides.
Qualifying day showed that the track can punish those who took chances and at times made some very good drivers look very ordinary.
With finals day upon us (and with the Xmas tree style program) drivers slowly bumped up through the day to eventually give us the results for the A-main grid listings.
Starting 11th on the Grid in the 60 minute final, Andrew slowly began working his way through the pack only to stumble on the now infamous 5-pack section slipping right back down the field again. However his patient consistant driving saw him slowly but surely make his way all the way back to the front with only a few laps to go. With light fading fast and some last minute challenges he finally blasted down the long back straight for the final time, though the chicane and over the finish line. A good fuel strategy and a bit of luck saw him take victory ahead of a star studded field of New Zealands best drivers to take out his first major GP offroad title.
It was looking a little touch and go for a while though as he accidently missed a scheduled fuel stop and circulated for an extra unplanned lap - finger nails shortened up in the pits until he eventually screamed into pit lane for a much needed top up.
So far 2012 has been a fantastic year for Andrew, also taking the 1/8 EP Offroad National title in February.
In an almost half hearted decision to give GP Offroad another stint he has only been back driving the class for a few club days prior to the event.
However with his totally new Buggy package Andrew was soon glad he gave the class another go as he rigorously tested and put his faith in products never seen or raced before in New Zealand.
Not only is Andrew Secretary of the Club but he has also put in countless hours into the preparation and running of the event in which he eventually claimed victory - so a truely deserving win for the much respected local driver.
With the 1/8 GP Offroad Nat's now only weeks away and a few drivers feeling the pain of defeat I'm sure we're in for another great spectacle of offroad competition racing.
We wish him well for this event and hope he can end the season on another high.
Reds Rc Ltd was also recently given the opportunity to create and manage a Mario Rossi backed Factory assisted Race Team - drivers would use his REDS Racing line of High Performance GP Engines.
Only a couple of weeks before the event we appointed Andrew as the first member of this Team, the engine and pipe he used in the final arrived just one week prior to taking victory.
An official announcement by REDS Racing Italy will be made shortly including the announcement of the other Team Drivers.

The New REDS Clutch System
3 Shoes, One Touch Effortless, 100% Made in Italy ...
REDS Racing has developed is own off road clutch system, specifically designed to optimize engine power output and to guarantee a better traction.
The clutch is integral part of the engine and allows to increase performance, improve tuning and increase reliability of the engine.
Its main feature is to make the engine power output, at low RPM, very smooth and linear, ensuring better traction, thanks to a lower wheel spin. This allows to reduce fuel consumption and to improve driveability.
The clutch is 100% made in Italy and has been designed to be easily assembled, thanks to “one touch” effortless system. The clutch assembly does not require the use of any type of special tool, just the use of hands.
Shoes & Springs
The clutch shoes are machined from a billet of 7075 T6 Aluminum. This guarantee a very smooth and a very precise engine power output.
The clutch is adjustable thanks to different diameter spring sets: 0.9 – 1.0 - 1.1 mm.
Vented Bell
Our high performance vented clutch bell has been manufactured with a special hardened carbon steel and high accuracy CNC machining. These features guarantee longer life to clutch bell, shoes and ball bearings.
Flywheel
The flywheel is lightweight and has a low inertia to rotation to maximize engine power. Thanks to the flywheel shape it is possible to race on any type of ground, even with stones, without danger of flame out.
It’s a universal and suitable product for every kind of engines and cars Buggy and Truggy, for example: Mugen, OFNA, Team Associated, Kyosho777, KyoshoMP9, Team Losi, Hong Nor, etc.

REDS Racing - Double Bend Manifold
The REDS Racing R&D department, in cooperation with REDS Team Drivers, developed a new double bend manifold for off-road line, which further decrease the fuel consumption. The new manifold provides in addition very smooth and manageable power that allows to improve lap timing on mid-low grip tracks.
It can be combined with all REDS Racing Off-Road pipes: EFRA 2099, EFRA 2069, EFRA 2034 and EFRA 2104.
